Hello fellow affiliate wizards,
Not trying to compare d*ck sizes here, just trying to size a ballpark figure.
What do you guys consider a average (IE: aim for that on optimizing) and a EXCELLENT (IE: WHOA JACKPOT!) conversion rates on Be2 and/or Mate1 on ad -> LP, LP -> offer and conversion% ?
Yes my English sucks, so sorry if that got out a bit confusing 😛
your conversion rate is going to depend on your traffic source. and diff. ctrs and considered good/bad for diff. traffic sources.
shoent, on POF! 😛
Never tried it on POF but mate1 has been pretty solid for me for non pof campaigns… Ad > Direct – 0.50-0.80 epcs
oh well not sure about offer conversion rate, dont run those offers, but LP ctr on pof i think most ppl would agree the min. would be 40%
Ok so 40% ctr on LP, lets see more inputs!
I’ve always aimed for around 30% as a CVR on Be2 (with a landing page). There have been days where it’s been close to 50%, and other days more recently where 20% seems to be the stable rate. That’s when I’m running directly. Run Be2 through an affiliate network and you’re going to get all kinds of crazy variations based on the tracking and payouts.
As for landing page CTR, it’s a little weird for me. I’m at my most profitable with 1 particular design that gets around a 35% CTR. I can boost the landing page CTR to 45% by using more images and less copy, but it’s at the expense of conversions and it hurts my ultimate ROI.
You have to be very careful not to focus all your efforts on improving the landing page CTR at the expense of what it should be doing – and that’s selling the offer.
For Mate1, because the payout is much lower and it’s generally aimed at younger demographics, your ad and LP CTR both need to be higher. I’d aim for a 50% landing page CTR (with several different landing page variations to avoid burn out). My experience with Mate1 is that your conversion rate will be whatever Mate1 wants it to be. You’ve got to shoot for a minimum of 25% though. If it drops below that, you’re probably gonna be in the red.
Thanks for the helpful info. In general, if you had 3 ads, identical except for country targeting (US CA and UK), what difference in CTR would you expect? In my limited experience, UK seems much less.
Your UK CTR is probably lower due to your ad text on the lander. You are probably not using the correct sayings etc that are for UK based people. Even though they speak and read english it’s different.
Thanks, that does make sense. Maybe I should start sending ads to onehourtranslation asking them to convert US English to UK English? haha.
But I was actually talking about the ad level (I’ve only DL’d to the UK). I’ve always just assumed that the UK population responded very differently to successful images I’ve used in the US. (I’ve only made UK ads targeting women) The CTR would drop from .150 to less than .1 consistently.
Any thoughts on this?
Well i don’t have too much info with the dating vertical, i just did several thousands worth of leads with Mate 1 and my experience is pretty much limited. I’ve been doing like 25 – 50 % ROI with Mate 1 Campaign with Neverblue and after 2 months i heard back from the advertiser about the quality and i gotta tell you this was complete shit, They removed like 150 Lead ( 4.85 / Lead ) because they are duplicate fake sign ups … you do the math I ended up losing with this campaign ( i thought i was doing great but ended up losing money ! )
Be careful with Mate 1
Yeah, they kicked me off their offer last year (Neverblue also) without telling me why.
Ive been testing BE2 since last weekend and found the CVR horrible! That’s direct linking a broad appeal ad to a broad demo for AU, CA & UK. The network W4 says that this offer is only getting 5% CVR!!!
Over 100 clicks from PoF in total and for 2 CVs. ie <2%.
I heard something about their signup and went through the process myself. MAN! It pays on 6TH PAGE SUBMIT!!!! WTF?! There is a multi page survey/personality test that must be completed first before even starting on your profile.
I took screenshots….there were 17 of them! Some pages had so many questions I had to take 3 screenshots. Most are multiple choice…radio buttons and boxes to tick.
35 questions in total. But some questions have a list of 10 or so attributes in 2 columns with a 1-4 scale in between. So each one is like a question too. So maybe 60+ questions.
Then they MUST do their profile and submit that. Then you get paid. Takes anywhere from 5-19 minutes to complete.
@Finch how do manage to get such high conversions? Have you got merchant LPs without the test?
My network had a meeting with the merchant this week. I submitted questions before I knew about the survey. I heard they liked my questions …..and my AM is asking them for a LP without the survey. See how I go.
Can anyone else make BE2 work for them?
I’ve always found that direct linking struggles with Be2.
Think of it this way. How much action is required to seal the conversion? In Be2’s case, there’s a lot of it. The user needs to answer a lot of questions and jump through a lot of hoops before getting what they want. Your landing page (required for Be2, imo) has to provoke a need to register that is the equal of this effort.
The best way to do that is to try and justify the long sign-up process. Don’t use copy like "Sign up in 20 seconds!". Not for this offer anyway. Pre-sell the fact that the site is picky, and that only serious daters will find exactly what they’re looking for. You have to turn what seems like a disadvantage in to a unique selling point for your offer.
You’ve definitely done the right thing by testing the conversion funnel. Many affiliates don’t even bother. Once you know what the user has to do to seal your conversion, you can home in on those actions and build incentives around them. You can brand the survey as a ‘privilege’ that helps avoids situations like on POF, where any nut job with a laptop will message you. Give the user a strong enough motive to stay with the offer. It’s difficult to do that with direct linking…
Get Maynzie to give you his feedback on Be2, he had some troubles with them. They just decided not to pay for all his leads. After a decent amount of traffic that they said leads didn’t back out. Instead of pausing him and paying, decided not to pay him a cent. $xx,xxx worth of leads.
A few years ago Be2 did well DL, but today you really need an LP. And a pretty good one. The kind of LP can be very different for each country. For instance…I am Dutch…I was promoting Be2 in Belgium and The Netherlands.
Belgium did great and The Netherlands sucked. And I was using the exact same LP for both countries. I already thought in The Netherlands Be2 was satured.
Then I used the famous ´5 rules´ LP in The Netherlands….and BOOM…CR: 25%
About the 6th Page submit…Don’t thinks thats a bad thing…remember Be2 wants to make money, and I am sure they have tested a lot of variations of the registration process. It also reminds me off a clickbank product. Fatlossforidiots.
That one used a multipage sales funnel…And they also did quite well 😉

— is this recently? I was just about to get something setup and try to go direct with them.. @Maynzie could you elaborate more on your experience with them so that others who are considering going down this path don’t encounter the same nightmare?
We almost have everyone on POF.com’s logout page.. Mate1’s there, Be2 is not.
the epc of be2 in neverblue are really high. When I was testing it using a simple landing page, it did not work. I will design a new LP with more copy to have another try
What 5 rules are you referring to?
What 5 rules are you referring to?
It’s official….movid does not watch Porn 😉
When you go to a adult tube site….xvideos, xhamster…etc Just click some ads…For instance the Cartoons and the Ugly Girls ones…You can’t miss the 5 rules LP then.
Haha, well I tend not to click on those ads whenever I’m watching porn I guess I’ll have to give it a shot though!
I’m very disappointed with Be2.
I tried this offer twice.
First time last year, I was targeting females, simply direct linking and converting around 15%.
I’m not good when it comes to CTR with FB ads, so I’ve never been able to run this campaign with decent profits.
(can’t get more than 0.06% )
Then, after bringing my ‘angle science’ to the next level, thanks to these 3 exact threads:
(find the PDF, seriously, it’s golden)
+ Finch Premiums posts:
I finally found out a way to convert around 37%-45%, with a landing page!!!
Yes you’ve read it well. I got an EPC around $2, with a landing page.
I was so happy, no doubt it was my best performance ever, and with an EPC that high, no matter how much I suck with CTR on my ads… I was able to bid high.
But after a couple hundreds of leads, I’ve been told that they aren’t happy with my traffic, for the second time…
I don’t think I was overpromising anything, I wasn’t too pushy, I wasn’t using any weird angles, I was on a very broad angle.
Too bad this campaign didn’t work, I’ll give an other try with another offer.
