Sure I still use Facebook and Twitter, and utilize social sharing buttons, to advertise my adult sites, but I don’t have unrealistic expectations that an adult social campaign is going to turn viral, or that investing in an adult version of Twitter, Facebook, or TwitPic will be a worthy use of my time and attention. We are just too puritanical of a society to free our selves of this kind of shame, and fear of judgment by others, in order for this to gain momentum and establish critical mass. And even if you can get something of an adult nature trending on Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, or any other mainstream social platform, you’ll soon find your post/channel/account removed for violating their terms of service, due to a very loud community of complainers, even if it was completely censored.
Don’t get me wrong, the adult vertical can be one of the easiest sells in the world, however expecting to scale a purely adult campaign into a mainstream arena (where there is more volume) is probably an endeavor that will require an ability to build awareness and buzz while still staying well "under the radar".
