I am promoting an offer aimed at seniors ie, 65+ I started running it on PPV targeting what I thought would be sites this demographic goes to but I am struggling to get enough traffic.
So does anyone have some good suggestions of a self serve traffic network that would enable good targeting to this demographic that doesn’t have a steep learning curve or a bug starting budget.
I did think of facebook, but I haven’t done anything on fb and was thinking maybe sitescout, pulse360, yabuka or something that has precise targeting with decent volume and without the need for an adserver at this stage. I also don’t want to sign up for a ton of networks and try them all out so hopefully you guys have some good ideas.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

FB might work..I wouldn’t suggest anything like Pulse.
Depending on what kind of offer it is, search (AdWords, Bing) can be a really good choice.

The offer payout is only $4 so in most cases that is tough to get search working, unless there are a lot of cheap long tail searches.

Now this is just theory but if you could somehow target users that use google as their internet portal to other sites…. it would be nice if you could use something like "Google.com" + "Facebook" as your target for example. Although this might just target non savvy internet users.
Just brainstorming here, it’s still pretty early…

Good example of how we can outsmart our potential customers sometimes. While we’re sitting here trying to make flashy landing pages and killer angles, people (my mom included) are typing facebook.com into Google.
That’s also one reason bidding on domain names works so well in PPC
