I started with POF 2 weeks back and have spend about $400 till now (tight budget but its ok.). This is my 5th month (would start from 16th) here and frankly 2nd and 3rd month were just waste. My journey is same as of others— read everything out here, tried to grasp concepts etc.
Would like to thank almost everyone who has contributed to make the newbies understand the nuances involved. List is large but mr. green, stackman, tom, maynzie, z6, riley, finch, Ben are just to name few people whose posts and work has been really helpful.
I have tried some campaigns to get the feel before i starting this follow along. most have been negative except 2 and i hope your comments would
Campaign 1- Around lead gen— The figures are
Total Impressions: 828,732
Total Clicks: 925
Avg CTR: 0.112%
Total Costs: $121.61
Total Revenue: $125.70
I have been able to narrow down on 9 pictures out of complete set for high ctr’s ones and they were bringing best conversions too. I have been able to demarcate the age group bringing me maximum conversion. i am targeting all login counts as conversions was mix across all.
Now problem is that i am bidding too low as this what is making me positive. the moment i up the bid the campaign goes negative.
Dont know what to do here. I am spending about $8 to $10 and i am making same everyday. How to go from here….any ideas.
This campaign was positive the first day but next day it went massively negative. It was around Bizzopp and in about weeks time it went about -300% negative. i paused it…was it right decision?
The next campaign i am gonna do is around dating. have tried about 4-5 female based campaign but they failed miserably.
Did a speeddate campaign around a very tight niche- male. after spending about $5 i have made $9 in 2 weeks. very low impressions.
Would keep this thread updated. As of now i $150 down i think …so the game is ON.
Your first campaign is good. The CTR is decent for targeting all login counts. I would still narrow that unless you’re going to continue to monitor all login counts. You should continue to test new ads (test completely different ads/copy/etc to get experience). You probably also need to spend a lot of time working on your landing page. Go into your spy account and click through the ads and see where they take you. See how other people setup their landing pages. You’ll probably start to see the same or similar landing pages. That means they were swiped and probably works decently. Having a great landing page will bring you to the promised land with this one.
Haven’t really heard of anyone making it big with bizzopp on POF, but I could be wrong. Since you’re a beginner, stick to things that people will have a lot of feedback for you. Probably just stick to dating, maybe weightloss. Btw you cant have -300% ROI lol. The most you can lose is all your money, which is -190% ROI.
Lastly, $5 isn’t enough to tell anything for a campaign. You need to think of data in terms of significance. And $150 is nothing!
thanks tom. my apologies ….yes it was not -300% ….. an error.
i upped the bid for this campaign to get more traffic and as of now, as expected, i am at loss. will keep everyone posted.
by the way your TVM is superb. you Rock
I started with my 1st dating campaign. I targeted US and CA
I started both the offers with bid closer to 0.9. since it was sunday my account started to deplete much faster.
1) i took an angle and was getting clicks 0.1%
2) My lander was good but offer was not converting– it was speeddate
some issues for which i needed an answer for
1) about 70% of my funds in both project got depleted much faster. got 2 conversions here
2) I got scared at that moment and dropped bids to low amount
3) at low bids i removed the login count because i knew i wont get a chance. The problem after that was that i was getting clicks, people were going from lander to offer but it was not converting after that. I believe speeddate is popular and they might have seen it earlier.
I am in a fix
1) at high bids the account gets depleted too fast
2) at low bids you get clicks, your lander works but offer doesn’t converts.
Images i took were earlier tested and had high CTR’s. I narrowed to 9 and they were getting decent clicks.
Dont know from where to go from here. Any suggestions?
I think your bids were too high regardless. Lower the bids and see what kind of volume you’re getting.
Yeah totally agree with Tom on this one, lower ya bids dude see what it does to your bottom line
Lower your bids man they are too high. I was finding the same things with my ads…not converting well. Worked on my ad copy and got some new images, conversions flew up.
Thanks all for reply.
Just wanted to understand how you play the agme.
like you start with x, based on result you change (up/low) bid and what steps you take next
actually there are steps with which game is played…….anyone can please elborate.
dont want actual figures but some insight would help all who would follow this follow along
Start your bid with whatever backs into a somewhat profitable margin according to your payout and what you expect to achieve with your CTR and CVR. Then lower your bids further and see if volume changes.
