Hello everybody! I just wanted to drop by and introduce myself. My name is Philip Shapiro, I’m the owner of the affiliate network, CPATrend. I’ve been in the affiliate marketing industry for about 4 years now, and have operated CPATrend since January of 2010. There’s definitely a lot that I believe I can share with the members of STM, and I’m excited to be a part of it! I’d be happy to answer any and all questions, so don’t hesitate to drop me a message!
Look forward to speaking to you all!
glad to see you made it to the party…….
Looking forward to your first all revealing post that will blow people away with the value it offers them!!
What made you start a CPA network and what do you think is the difference between starting & failing and starting & succeeding?
Thanks Dan, I’m excited for the party .
Tijn, it’s my life’s goal to blow people away. I look forward to contributing!
The reason I started an affiliate network was that I was working as an affiliate with quite a few networks, and was never truly satisfied with every aspect of the networks out there. Don’t get me wrong, there’s excellent networks out there that have their stuff together, but as with most successful businesses: find what’s working, and do it better.
Like many entrepreneurs, I risked it all (well not all, but you get the picture ) when starting CPATrend. So I couldn’t really tell you what its like to start and fail. But I can imagine why networks start and fail:
1) Not enough cash flow
2) Bad payment terms
3) Payments not on time
4) Bad customer support
5) A bad tracking system
6) The owner or employee(s) has a bad reputation before starting the company
7) Little to no experience or industry knowledge (this seems like a big one nowadays with 100 new networks opening up every day..)
8) Lack of physical presence (trade shows, etc.)
There’s plenty of reasons startups fail, the same with an offline businesses. I’m just glad we’re not one of those .
Whats up Phil. I’ve worked with you before — you’re a great guy. Welcome.
Oh hey Alex, we’ve dabbled with a few things haven’t we? Always nice to see you around . Have you told everybody about our PPV campaigns that you did 80% of the work on? $$$
