Jim here. Can’t wait to get started learning what this place has to offer and meeting new people.
As a Master Trainer and the Lead Behaviorist for a national electronic dog fence company, I have dabbled in AM and PPC with very modest success. I came here because I am tired of exchanging dollars for hours and depending on others for my income. I want to figure out how to go from a nice income to a ridiculously nice income.
I’m serious. I don’t mind work. And, I am technically illiterate … well, almost. Should I leave now?
At any rate, I am willing to do what needs to be done. Hopefully, I will succeed after a few hundred stupid questions. And, in turn, I hope I can help others succeed.
Let’s get started!
One other note: Tracking and split-testing scare the hell out of me.
Welcome on STM dude!
Don’t let your lack of tech scare you. The forums are full of successful guys that can barely set up tracking.
Start reading to get used to the basics and take action right away.
Of course feel free to ask any questions you have along the way.
If you have any questions about tech, tracking, or split-testing in particular (and anything else AM-related in general) put ’em up here! I’m very happy to answer them, and by answering them I’ll get a better idea of what I should be writing tutorials about in future – win-win!
Hey welcome man!
"Dog trainer/behavior consultant" -> there is a huge niche out there that would love pay for your advice…
’tis a fair point. Have you considered selling info products? You can use the techniques you’ll find on STM to sell your own products just as easily as other peoples’.
Thank you for the boost of confidence people.
I didn’t mention it; but, I am going to be introducing a membership course in the next few months. In fact, most of it is done (video, pdf’s). I just am not confident on the steps to take (again why I am here). I also did not script the videos because dogs and puppies aren’t scripted and I am feeling self-conscious about that as well.
You can look up jimhodgesdogtraining.com and Jim Hodges Dog Training on Facebook if interested.
Thanks again for your replies.
don’t worry too much about the tech. there’s plenty of guys to help out with any issues you have.
Also, someone recently mentioned that they used fiverr to do technical tasks for them for $5, so if you ever get frustrated, that’s an option!
Welcome to STM!
Membership course: NICE. You’ll definitely get a lot of value out of using affiliate-style techniques to drive traffic to that.
I think half the affiliate marketing guides I ever read used the Dog Training niche as an example.
Dont worry about a lack of technical skills – you can learn some and outsource the rest.
