I just wanted to say hello and introduce myself a bit so that if you see me post other places, you might have an idea of my background.
Background – Was in affiliate marketing for a long while, did normal starting stuff Clickbank, ranked #1 back in the day for "man boobs" had a review site that did alright.
Created products that were in Clickbank one is still there: https://bandwpthemes.com/
Had a company backed by VC’s that was all affiliates, ran a lot of traffic to our site that sold cigarettes: https://esmokes.com/ and owned candles.com and had a warehouse of candles.
Started our own eCig offer in ECM, ECM went under. Was given the task of trying to make 1mil in 3 months before our company was to go public. Did everything from media buys, PPC, PPV and email. Failed bad…really bad.
Had 150 affiliate sites and got hit with massive penalties, money all lost. VC’s and I had it out was left with huge bills in Facebook and AdBlade.
Never recovered really. Was in a non-compete and these guys had millions (started inktomi that was bought by Yahoo for a lot). Stayed away from Affiliate Marketing.
Became a professor teaching affiliate marketing (the easy stuff, not this stuff in here).
Have one company that I partner in that makes money: https://airtoo.com/ but partners chasing red bouncing balls again.
Now here in this forum, signed up with a good affiliate network locally, started in 50onRed and basically starting from the ground up.
Any advice will help, this time I am by myself, no partners, no VC’s…little money but enough to get going.
This time – pissed off, focused, dedicated and going to get this right but slowly. Here’s to my success and hopefully some new friends in here.
Welcome! I wish you much success!
Thanks traffiking, I hope so too.
Awesome story. Sounds like you will do just fine! Welcome to the forum my Florida Brother!
Good luck with it shnize. With so much knowledge of the industry you will do great things on your own I’m sure.
Looks like we’re in the same boat man! I feel your pain! I posted something similar:
I actually used to have a Res-V Skin Care offer on ECM for a short period, but I had bad partners and lost money with that deal.
Anyway, welcome back to affiliate marketing. I’m sure you’ll figure out your path again especially with all the lessons you learned.
Wow, pretty impressive story – and must have been a pretty tough one to live.
Looking forward to hearing how you get on with STM!
If you have any trouble finding any info on the forum, btw, please do post or PM me – I know we’ve got a lot of content here and it can be hard to navigate sometimes.
I am feeling the love already and you guys have to know that it is much appreciated. @Caurmen I have been reading all of your posts and that is what has been guiding me back to where I need to be. You seem like a really awesome dude and really care about the success of others, it is nice to see that in this industry.
This forum was just getting around when I was getting out before and all we had was some place that was…wikedly on fire and it was kind of a mess. I have to say that I have been reading a lot since I got in here and this is a totally different eye opening place, I wish this was around a while back hard knocks would have been lessened.
Hoe to make some good friends here and some people to bounce ideas off of.
WOW Jasper I just read that whole thread and I have to say you have had quite the journey…I actually watched the video that was posted too that was good
I am going to follow your diary and keep up with your success you are like my barometer since you are a bit ahead of me in campaign creation. Would love to keep each other motivated if you were down for that. If so let me know by PM or I can do the same.
Best of luck with everything here and in your journey, now off to read The Psychological Price of Entrepreneurship and see what this is all about.
Thanks dude, I saw you were in Melbourne. I go to there for a consulting client I have there. I haven’t gone since the beginning of the summer…as a consultant you tend to work yourself out of a job once you get them to where they need to be.
It is off Washington Road and when I was there for more than a day they put me up at the Radisson next to some old biker bar. If I go out there again I will hit you up and maybe we can do a lunch or something. Melbourne has a cool downtown area I would live over there if I could.
Thanks so much phome, I am doing my best to be just that – focused. I went to sleep last night reading this and I am up now reading this and checking stats…sadly nothing yet, but soon Im sure.
"Ranked #1 For Man Boobs." <– That is business card worthy.
Haha welcome dude!
